Bell Memorial

In 1906, the citizens of the Brantford and Brant County areas formed the Bell Telephone Memorial Association, which commissioned the memorial. By 1908, the association’s designs committee asked sculptors on two continents to submit proposals for the memorial. The submission by Canadian sculptor Walter Seymour Allward of Toronto won the competition. The memorial was originally scheduled for completion by 1912 but Allward, aided by his studio assistant Emanuel Hahn did not finish it until five years later. The Governor General of Canada, Victor Cavendish, 9th Duke of Devonshire, unveiled the memorial on 24 October 1917.

Photo Retouching and Effects

An old photo I used to show how I can retouch an image to add some grunge or zombie look, the black eye was painted on using photoshop and the pain effect, I’ve had a few black eyes so I was able to visualize the actual colors. Then I went a bit further and plucked my eye out a little like Carl’s eye in walking dead.

Yay Sepia!, These horses were saddled up for horse buggy rides. Every year the city puts on a winter fair in the downtown and two really handsome horses come studded in their gear for a full day of fun.

A supermoon is a full moon at its closest point to Earth during its orbit, according to Space.com. While the supermoon will look larger and give off more light on January 31 than a regular full moon, the difference can be hard to spot with the naked eye.

But the upcoming supermoon will be extra special because it is also a blue moon — the second full moon in a calendar month — and a blood moon, a moon which occurs during a lunar eclipse.

But the upcoming supermoon will be extra special because it is also a blue moon — the second full moon in a calendar month — and a blood moon, a moon which occurs during a lunar eclipse.

Because the January 31 supermoon is occurring during a lunar eclipse and is also a blue moon and a blood moon, it is being called a “super blue blood moon.”

The upcoming supermoon is the third of 2018 and will complete the “supermoon trilogy,” according to NASA. The last two supermoons occurred on January 1 and December 3.

Dragonfly

I just got a new large square piece of tinted glass, I was setting up my camera for product photos this dragonfly flew in the back door and into the room I was set up in and landed smack dab in the center of the frame. I took this one shot and it flew through the house and outside.

Leola and Austin

Liola and her son Auston visited our studio when I was just getting things going. I just bought a new silverlake backdrop called old west. One of my favorite backdrops that can be lite in any number of settings. I only used this backdrop a few times before it was lost.

Alvin (Benni) Doolittle

HOVER!

I was named after Benni Doolittle, His proper name was Alvin, unknown to my parents at the time, so I was just a story or two away from being named Alvin. I love restoring old photos especially from my own community, photos of loved ones are often few and far in between and when they are discovered they are usually damaged in some way or another. Mending the photo is not something many people think about when they find an old worn out photo. The ones I have restored get framed and become treasured additions to home family galleries.

The Peacemakers Journey Story Book

This is a sneak preview of the book I am working on, I’ve been learning how to animate to also make this project into an animated special. The journey will follow the emergence of Peacemaker to his departing from the people. In the meantime, I am also working on my amateur “Mohawk” publishing company (CORNPRESS) a project that is very conscientious about how we develop and receive our funding and promotions. This amoung my other projects are considered nations building project specifically to advance the liberation of the Mohawk peoples.

Ashlee Simpson Vector Art

When I first started practicing vector art, I made this vector of Ashlee Simpson. If she hadn’t bombed on SNL she may have had a long career. Now she has a growing family and I’m sure she wouldn’t have it any other way. I was creating a portfolio for my then company Faze One Studio, I wanted to add some old art from then and new creations.

Sky Dome, Graphic Designs

This symbol represents the SkyDome. The design is made with superimposed semi-circles, representing the three levels of the Iroquois cosmos: the Celestial world, our world and the world of darkness. The two volutes (spiral curls) symbolize either the Celestial tree or the life-long struggle between good and evil (represented by the twins) that we all have within ourselves.

The Celestial Tree or Tree of Peace stood in the center of the Celestial world, where it produced flowers and fruits in abundance. When it was uprooted, Sky Woman fell through the hole it made. During her fall, she grasped the roots of the tree and brought with her gifts from the sky: tobacco and strawberries.

In pre-colonial times, the Neutral Indians used much of the land but were gradually driven out by the Six Nations who were allied with the British against the Huron and their French allies. A member of the Iroquois Confederacy provided the route and name for Mohawk Road, which originally included King Street in the lower city.

I drive to Hamilton about three times a month, with all the waterfalls and amazing food I’m going to make a point to take my camera with me whenever I leave the house. These are the first in a new photo blog, I tried making a daily photo blog in 2013 But it was very hard to keep up with the project while getting Two Row Times running, now that I have time and wheels I can take my camera on outings.

I’ll include the exif data for anyone who likes to know. Photos can be used from this website as long as you link back to the original link.
